After long wait of 4.7 years ( i know it may not sound too long as some of the others), I finally got the card production ordered email yesterday. I was mostly a silent reader on IV but have contributed to IV few times since I started visiting since last year. I wish good luck for everybody waiting out there.
Congratulations and good luck... Do visit us some times and help out with calling campaigns etc... Your voice just got way more important to the Law makers then ours :)

chandu,its not same all the time as i believe in the candidate potential then the experience..i have seen so many case in my past 5 yrs of experience that a Guy who has 8yrs of experience failed to impress the hiring manager and technical lead in an personal interview where as a fresh graduate from well know university cracked the same interview a got the project� IT is the place where we all have to learn new thing every day...experience only matters how the a person approaching to get the things done...it all depends on how each individual is capable of job get done..this is what i belive in...no offence to any one.
I think it is more than that. A guy with lots of experience unless he is looking for a job that suits his experience will not get a job for which he will be over qualified.
An experience guy might find it difficult to answer questions like �what is operator precedence?� at first, cause he has moved from there to advanced levels, but a guy straight out of college can perform better in the interview and get the job.
Also remember for just a techie job, a middle aged (or older) guy will be a liability on the company as that can change the dynamics of medical insurances and other benefits for himself and his family. The company would rather take in a less experienced person and spend less, the company will not tell that for legal reasons but that is an unwritten rule that they will follow.

The reason I am asking is, in FL, recently I tried to take color copies of my passport in Staples, where I was not allowed to take photocopies of passport which was clearly labeled on copy machine and same thing at Kinko's and I wonder how you managed to get color copies.. (sorry folks my questions was way out from the main topic of this post).
Color photocopy of passport, immigration documents, currency notes, etc. (a list of 8-10 items) are totally illegal in USA. You may face legal consequences. I have color copiers both photo and laser. User manual clearly states that.
I am not sure why B/W copy could be illegal. Most of univerisities recommend students to keep a photocopy of immigration documents safely. See these sites

These photocopies are not supposed to be shown to anybody else otherwise. Trying showing photocopies to govt. officials such as police, dmv, immigration officers, etc. - there will be questions on this. But when requesting replacement of a lost I20 or a lost passport by providing a photocopy of original, question related to photocopy (B/W) will not be asked.

For new company to file EB2 based on BS + 6 years experience. What kind of experience letter we will need from old company.
AS you know desi companies dont give experience letters, how do people manage to show old experiences and file for EB2 in new company ?

When you want someone (that could be anyone) to do something, it is better to ask politely rather than using accusatory language and kill the debate even before it starts. :D
This is just a suggestion. You are a free man living in a free world (and include the text of First Amendment here), so you are free to do or say whatever you want. Although, there are many means to express frustration, including accusatory language.
Why do think that someone here has a power to do something but is deliberately not doing it? You seem to think that others on the forum are giving you "excuses"? :rolleyes: That's funny. Often on these forums I have seen folks with the loudest (and mostly disrespectful or distasteful) expression try to drive, causing an accident right in the start.

on second thoughts i feel lou dobbs is unlikely to change his opinion even if 1K people send him mails. send it anyways to all other cnn anchors so that IV can get some coverage on cnn.
I feel sending anything to Lou Dobbs will only be counter-productive. Again, as I mentioned, we are jumping all over the board with different ideas and opinions. This leads to no where. Someone who has good understanding of USCIS / DOS / Govt procedures should come up with an agenda and move forward from there. We'll need to work with IV leadership team too. (At this time, I don't think they are even looking into this effort, as understandably they have other goals in hand). However, we should approach them with concrete plan of action.
Everyone is willing to Donate $$$. But for what? What are we going to spend that money on?

Hope this thread will be useful for somebody who is looking for american company for green card processing. They wont get into the trap. So I am giving out the information from the known source(friends).
Company1: Deloitte
Company2: Chase
These two companies promised doing green card cards,they filed h1s, but did not file green card.Whatever reason (bad economy) may be, they did not sponsor green cards for those they promised to do. So be careful. It is not gaurantee.
Also, you can list the companies you know whoever promised, but did not file.
A sure invitation for defamation suit. Good luck.

I was the first person in the QnA - disappointed at the intent of this meeting - they really care about illegal immigration - not once legal immigrants were discussed. It was a farce and IV was just used as an organization to show support to him - very disappointed.:mad:

If your H-1B six-year limit will reach within the next two months and one-year increment extension is not available in your situation, please make it sure that you file the premium processing of I-140 petition before the end of July, 2008 for the three reasons: (1) Without the approval of I-140 petition, I-485 cannot be adjudicated. Since the premium processing will not be available from August 1, 2008, you should not fail to file premium processing services. (2) If the circumstances are such that you may have to change employment using approved I-140 petition, approval of I-140 petition by premium processing will be particularly critical. (3) As explained below, approval of I-140 is one condition for the H-1B three-year increment extension. If such extension is critical for you, you should seek premium processing services as quickly as possible within this month.
104(c) Three-Year H-1B Extension Petition: If you filed I-140 and I-485 concurrently during the period of July 2007 Visa Bulletin fiasco, some of you may have obtained the I-140 petition and are just waiting for the adjudication of I-485 application. Again, some of you who fit this description may not be eligible for one-year increment H-1B extension because of specific situation in each case. You may then have to file the three-year increment H-1B petition within this month as the 104(c) petition can be filed only during the visa number is not available for you.

Please wait and watch for couple of months. You can keep writing to congressmen, ombudsman, push for visa recapture in lame ducks, ask for more transparency into the process but please don't send any flowers now and try to embarrass any govt organization directly. We don't know what effect its going to have.Instead go through the Ombudsman to voice your concerns.Finally, please get the consent of core IV before you attempt this.
We really, really want EB2/3-I folks, especially those who have been waiting for 5 years or more, to get out of this gc process as painlessly as possible.
