These are appropriate in situations where the EAD request has been pending for at least 90 days. The expected termination of interim EADs at local USCIS offices was reported in our June 30, 2006 MurthyBulletin article, June 2006 Conference Update: Interim EADs to End, available on MurthyDotCom.

I am working for a very good Indian company and I worked for 3 very bad Indian companies.I feel the real difference between Good and Bad companies.With good company you never have to worry about your salary and legal things.With bad company you always have to worry about those things.

I wish my company attorney could understand the basic ENGLISH instructions. Worst part, still doesn't admit his mistake and keeps pointing to the receipt issued by USCIS.
Btw, I took Infopass appointment and went today to ask what should I do....given USCIS has issued receipt notice
The officer responded similar to my attorney's response, stating given that USCIS has issued receipt, they are working on my appl and I may not need to send the fee..BUT he admitted that the fee was required..
In short, still not sure what to do....
I think both your attorney and the Infopass official are right. The app fee is part of the initial evidence (documents) that are verified before the case is accepted. Since the receipt has been issued it seems the receipting agent has overlooked that the fee was required. But again, this is USCIS that we are talking about!!
Just my 2c and not a recommendation one way or the other!!

It does not matter who you are working for what matters is where you are living. Let's say there is a theft at your home while living in US, will you call Canadian police or US cops?
If the answer is US cops then the answer is very straight forward, you have to play by the rule of the land where you are living,
there is only one exception
If you work in a Embassy then you are on the autonomous land of the respective country, so if you are planning to work for Canadian Embassy then you will not need any US visa.

Since i applied my I-485, havent seen a LUD but i did first time June 3rd 2009. One of my friend with same PD got LUD in April. I am from TSC. Any thoughts?.

If senior citizens have to travel frequently from India to the Bay area (California) what is the most preferred airlines?
Points of comparisons would be pricing (frequent flyer discounts), leg room, optimum layover, wheelchair facility, good in-flight attendance, food and so on...the experience with the emirates has been ok thus far.
emirates didn't provide the wheel chair at the airport although it was made available in india and sfo. also the leg from dubai to sfo is very long.
please share your experiences and provide your feedback.
Try Singapore Airlines. You cannot escape a 12 to 16 hour second leg if you fly over the Pacific, but Singapore service is quite good. Cathay has been decent as well.

Ok .. let me give you the math before getting to the question: )

140 k GC numbers every year
85% available for folks in US, which is 199k
Out of these 119 k visas available, 40k are Eb3 category ..
10% for country .. so India's numbers should be 4000 a year
There are 14000 Eb3 visas before mine
Out of these 4750 are from India
So maybe I get the GC in 1 year 2 months?
Starting from? next Oct 10, meaning GC in Dec 11?
7170 visa should be given this year with the Apr 01 cut off .. so roughly 7000 Eb3 visas available so in all probability I should get it next year Dec 10?

I sent my EAD extension documents on 7/9 via FedEx to Nebraska. They recvd it on 7/11 morning and got signature proof. Can you please let me know how many days it take for the check to be encashed? This will be helpful. Thanks!!

I do not know authoritatively if this is so. But logically speaking, I see no reason why not. Asking a CPA is probably the best way to go if you really want to do it only the withholding route. Many times a CPA will give you this advice free of cost. Also you can ask the tax guy at bankrate.com or some other online source where some tax expert answers questions.
The way I see it, as far as IRS is concerned, by the deadline dates, they expect to receive the right amounts of money. Withholding is one way, estimated taxes is another.
Also, one thing I forgot to mention in my previous post, make sure you also pay for her social security, medicare and state tax.
Social security is 12.X % and medicare is 1.5% (please verify from authoritative source), so setting aside 14% for this is a safe thing to do.
CA state tax is 9.3 % (again please verify because this varies based on your combined income)
As we file our taxes jointly and hence instead of making advance payments/estimated tax payments quarterly, cant I just have my employer(w2 based) withhold more money from my paycheck every month?
Would this extra payment through this channel suffice for the purposes of estimated payments?

I have called the IRS for this scenario and the IRS rule is that the dependent has to be present in US for at least 180 days. Also they need to have an ITIN applied for (you can also apply for ITIN while filing your taxes).
